This 53,000sf addition to the Domenic Center at the University of New Mexico consists of classrooms, labs, and the Clinical Performance Center where students learn to diagnose and treat illnesses and interact with patients. Phase 2 is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification, and use 25% less energy and 35% less water than a typical university building. Key sustainable features include ultra-low flow plumbing fixtures, an efficient building envelope, low-water use landscaping, and a variety of low-emitting, recycled, and regional materials. After occupancy, UNM’s green cleaning and chemical management programs will ensure sustainable operation and maintenance of the building.
