East Slope Skyview Project, Rio Rancho, NM
In response to local concerns, a semi-conductor manufacturer initiated the sustainable rehabilitation of a highly visible 35-acre portion of their property over-looking established residential neighborhoods. As public participation facilitator and designer, DPS engaged the public in a solution that is more than just rehabilitation and beautification. The finished project is a multi-use recreational trail corridor for employees and the surrounding community. Native landscaping of the slope uses passive water harvesting techniques to supplement irrigation and recreate plant and animal habitat. |
