Old Albuquerque High School

This project plays a major role in the revitalization efforts of downtown Albuquerque. The historic complex consists of the Old Main, Classroom, Manual Arts, Library and Gymnasium buildings, Bulldog Plaza and sites surrounding the campus.

The main campus has been completely reworked with new landscaping, paving and ground cover. The center planter structure has been recreated and is now a focal point of the central courtyard.

The Classroom and Old Main have been converted into loft apartments.  Each existing classroom is a single loft apartment, leaving the walls, chalkboards, floors and ceilings in place, where possible. The hallways of these buildings were maintained, and the existing classroom doors were reused as the apartment doors. The library is scheduled to be converted for office use, while the future use of the gymnasium is not yet designated.
