Clovis Civic Center

Mesa del Sol Fire Station #22 | Clovis Civic Center

The Clovis Civic Center is a 30,000sf facility with a 9,000sf ballroom and several large meeting rooms.  A sculpture garden/entry plaza creates an informal entrance where guests can meet and talk before proceeding into the building. A courtyard located near the ballroom allows for combined inside/outside functions and brings natural light into the ballroom.  The design anticipates the future additions of an auditorium and a second ballroom.

The design makes allusions to Clovis’s architectural history and at the same time incorporates modern elements.  The ornamental iron work at the entrance references a ranch house gate and the stone administration wing recalls early settlers’ homes.  It is a balanced mixture of the pioneering west and a modern aesthetic that creates a timeless New Mexico look.
