Fort Lewis College Berndt Hall Reconstruction
The north wing of Berndt Hall, originally constructed in 1968, is an existing 16,650 GSF facility currently occupied by the Biology, Agriculture, and Forestry Departments. This portion of Berndt Hall will be demolished and the new facility totaling 58,414 GSF will be a four-story structure inclusive of a basement.
The new building will provide interactive yet identifiably distinct spaces for the Geosciences Department and the Physics/Engineering Departments. The project will offer the advantages of modern, energy efficient building technologies and up-to-date instructional configurations. User groups participated actively in the design process and overwhelmingly welcomed a more interactive, dynamic, and sustainable environment for learning.
