NMJC Ben Alexander Student Learning Center

The enlargement of the existing Ben Alexander Student Center for the New Mexico Junior College was in response to large projected increases in enrollment.  The existing building was much too small and badly outdated for the programs the College was offering, and the addition allows the building to consolidate those programs in one facility, offering better service to students.

The Student Learning Center addition and renovation addresses all of these needs with a new student lounge, game room, large classrooms/community meeting spaces, a dining room, food preparation and bookstore.  The addition also includes the student’s “One-Stop Shop” that includes registration, enrollment, financial aid, tutoring and other evaluation functions.  State-of-the-art computer testing facilities and an internet café round out the diversity of functions.
